You wont change unless you do.
[A question relating to Frankenstein by Mary Shelley]
How is the issue of Victor being held responsible for his creation’s consequences similar or different from any other stories or real life examples of scientists and technology you can think of?
People will always have some regrets because they always wonder what would happen if they had chosen a different path, would it be for a better future? or perhaps would it lead to a much worse fate if they had decided differently? A real life example can be something such as Dr. Robert Oppenheimer and Einstein making the atomic bomb. Dr. Oppenheimer and Einstein can relate well to Victor in was such as: they created monsters (literally and metaphorically), the monster is new to the world and foreign/out of the ordinary, and the monster kills. They say that you should not toy with life or death and yet in reality and fantasy, people toy around with it. For people who are religious, they believe that their god(s) created the world and people, but do they ever think that the god(s) might have regrets about making the world and the people? People will always wonder what they could have done differently and wonder how things would have turned out if they had done things different, but the thing that they should not do different is try changing the past. The past cannot be changed, but we can change the present for a better future, if we truly believe that. Which do you choose? do have regrets or are you satisfied?
